Alan Keef Ltd - recognised the world over

2022 marks our 50th anniversary and, having had our last two open days cancelled due to Covid, we're delighted to confirm the date of our special 50th Anniversary Open Day.

Put the date in your diary to join us on Saturday 24th September for this very special event - a showcase of all that we are. A trawl through our personal records also shows that this will be the 30th Open Day held at The Lea, so another reason to celebrate and we warmly invite you to join us.

As well as 'Woto', you'll be able to see 'Taffy's' return to steam for the first time in 12 years; Graham Morris' Kerr Stuart Peter Pan' will be joining us and the replica Falcon' being built for the Corris Railway will be on display and in steam too.

We're also very pleased to welcome 'The Trotter of Coleford', a 1-ton steam roller which you may recall was a visitor at our last Open Day in 2018.

Enthusiasts will be aware that we acquired the derelict engine and carriages in 2016 from the Dalmunzie estate in Scotland and after extensive restoration, both of the carriages from this historic and unique train will be on display and in use behind the engines.

Alongside the engines, a walk-through-time display of five decades of Alan Keef Ltd will form a central point of the day, offering a fascinating insight into the company's history. They'll also be an array of trade stands to browse, whilst the newly planted private gardens behind us here at the works will be open for you to enjoy and relax in.

Hot and cold refreshments will be available throughout the day and as usual we will be raising money for our local church here in the village and your support will be greatly appreciated.  Admission charges are £7.50 for adults and £3.00 for children. 'Doors' open at 11.00am - 4.30pm. No need to pre-book - payment on the door by card or cash.

Parking will be available adjacent to our main entrance - please take it slowly and beware of pedestrians as you arrive and leave.

IMPORTANT TRAVEL INFORMATION - We are located on the main A40. If you approaching on the A40 from the Gloucester direction you will find the road has been closed (until Spring 2023). Please follow the signed diversion route to rejoin the A40 or plan an alternative route via M50.
